Beware Carnivores!

The fear is back again. The desperate longing for those tantalising aromas and those finger-licking delicacies of the carnal are again going to become tasty memories of the past. Yes, the avian flu is raising its ugly head once again. With the Bengal under grave threat of a possible outbreak of the flu, it is now evident that essential precautions have to be taken by the government as well as the common man.
One might wonder, what can the common man do? No, it's not exactly avoiding eggs and meat,(though it would be the safest option). For those who crave for non-vegetarian food, can take the following precautions:
1)Avoid eating raw eggs or meat at all costs
2)Avoid mixing raw and cooked meat
3)The meat or eggs should be cooked at or above 70 degrees Celsius.
4)Try eating meat cooked at home rather than at a restaurant.
5)How would one know whether the meat at the restaurants is cooked well enough? If the colour of the meat still appears pinkish, it implies that the meat is under-cooked.
6)Never eat the meat of a dead chicken.
If the above steps are taken care of, the grave disease can be kept at bay. It's not just about the people, it's also about the birds. Don't you think? So let's hope and pray for the healing of nature...
